EMERGENCY
8TH JULY 2006 @
THE UNIVERSAL
EMERGENCY with special Richard Thomason (Deep End), Andrew Back & James Pole
With the city of Glasgow earning itself the well-deserved reputation as UK capitol of Disco, Emergency reckoned it was high time we pulled in a local guest from among the hedz who've helped established the scene as one of real diversity and quality.
We're talking about a very technically sussed DJ who's played his part over the years in spreading the city's name for quality in all things Disco, Electro and House: step forward, Glasgow's own Richard Thomason.
As you will know, Emergency's reputation for quality has been built over the past two years largely on the outstanding tunes and general vinyl prowess of foreign blokes (all right - mostly English blokes). However, during that time, under our southward-diverted noses, Richard has been gracing Glasgow's pre-clubs, bars and clubs with across-the-field grooves all along. He even headed up his own club night, Deep End, in Ad Lib for several years.
Richard might have a lot to live up to, in terms of the big names who've appeared at Emergency over the past two years - from Jon Dasilva to Greg Wilson and Daniel Wang. But we know he'll do us proud - him and resident Emergency DJs Andrew Back and James Pole.
So let's show the boys a bit of solidarity, and confirm for ourselves once again that there are some top-notch floor-fillin Disco and Electro DJs plying their trade right here in the city..
