MORGAN SPICE PRESENTS THE CUBAN BROTHERS, DYNAMO, JOEY NEGRO, DEEPIAIN & MANY MANY MORE!
4TH NOVEMBER 2006 @
SNAFU
These heroes of house come together under one roof to bring you the best in live entertainment and dance that Aberdeen has to offer!
The Cuban Brothers...
The Cuban Brothers are unique. Born of the loins of seventies Havana, nurtured on a diet of soulful, sexy tunes and inspired by Cuban historical fact and mythology – their fresh approach to live entertainment whips up a frenzy at every gig.
Their legendary performance combines music, which evolves with every show, riotous comedy, both physical and observational, and sensational dancing - consequently the energy at every show is incredible.
The Cuban Brothers: A history
Taking it right back, The Cuban Brothers launched by storming UK club land with their passionate attitude towards partying and performing. Their unique flavour made nights out tasty again and their rise to fame has been meteoric. From stealing the main stage at Manumission to hosting the NME Awards The Cuban Brothers soon became the most desirable act to book for the coolest live events.
MTV were soon hot on their trail and in 2002 The Cuban Brothers started presenting music specials including festival coverage of Homelands and Creamfields, MTV in Ibiza and the MTV Music Awards. They are now working towards their own series and are currently recording an on air pilot for MTV’s main channel.
Joey Negro...
He made disco cool when they said 'Disco is dead' and is widely regarded as one of the founding faces of the UK garage and house music scene. With more aliases than Smith and Jones, who on earth is the real Dave Lee?
Dave landed a job in London vinyl store, Smithers & Leigh in his formative years, where he first heard the revered house classics 'Jack Your Body' and 'I Can Feel It' that were later to become a major inspiration for him to produce his own records. It didn't take long for Dave to make an impression on Rough Trade who offered him the opportunity to set up their dance arm, D-Mix. His first accounts included Rhythm King, who spawned such acts such as Bomb The Bass, S-Express, Cookie Crew and Beatmasters, and 4AD who had a hit with 'Pump Up The Volume' by MARRS.
An accomplished and highly respected producer/remixer who never fails to delight the underground dance music scene with his classic records, Dave is one of the dance music's best kept secrets - modest, hugely talented and more than a little quirky. Ten years on and Dave Lee aka Joey Negro, the Hed Boys, Doug Willis, Raven Maize and now Jakatta is still at the forefront of the global scene even if he still hasn't decided what name to go by!
Snafu are proud to bring you this very exclusive event, with magical entertainers, amazing cocktails and some of the best music around - you'd be insane to miss it!
