Last year some of you may remember we ran a festival special titled 'the lost edinburgh sessions'. It was bourne as a direct result of what appeared to be a rapid decline in Edinburgh's clubbing community at the time, most notably with the closer of the much revered 'Venue'. A year on and things are looking up... clubs are reopening and smaller establishments such as ours are looking to push the boundaries with much more vigor than before. To mark this turnaround we are bringing your ears our most diverse line up to date, and as always a chance to get your fill of Twitch with a bag of techno... mmmm mmmm.
First up is the return of The Wasp (Monox, Deviant Behaviour) who played some real ear-shattering electro and techno at RED in February, this time around we can expect some surprises as he brings his Serato setup with him to treat us to a selection of his more eclectic favourites as part of a warm up containing anything and everything from his smut hut menu.
Continuing with our policy of bringing more live music to the table Pins And Needles has Sircam - aka P&N DJ Paul Bendoris - making his Edinburgh live debut, this set has been ten years in the making and is never the same twice so expect...well we don't know what to expect because he's quite cagey about giving previews - but it'll be good and involve lots of boxes with numerous buttons...
Closing the evening's proceedings Pins And Needles are delighted to welcome back Optimo, B.R.W. and Pure mastermind JD Twitch for a three hour, roof-raising, trouser-shaking onslaught in his own often-copied but rarely-equalled style. Last time Twitch played at RED the club was full to bursting by 12.30 so don't dally!
Resident DJs KMG and Paul Bendoris will be in attendance to fill the gaps, supply the visuals and buy the beers so make sure to say hello, because they like the attention and you never know, there might be a drink in it for you.
