As part of our special events line-up, DEFinition will be celebrating its return with a performance by the world
renowned Beatnuts. This will take place on Tuesday the 15th of February at the Liquid Room, Edinburgh.
True veterans in the hiphop game, the Beatnuts are one of the best known names in the industry. Dominican born, New York raised duo Psycho Les & Ju Ju represent the true spirit of 'party & bullshit' funk infiltrated hiphop.
With big bass lines and a strong Latin influence they deliver 'hardcore rhymes with an ample sense of humour' [Rolling Stone]
Since their debut EP 'Intoxicated Demons' in 1993, the Beatnuts have been a consistent pillar in hiphop on a global scale, however it was thier 'Stone Crazy' album of 1997 which became their defining moment.
The Beatnuts attract one of the widest audiences in hiphop - party due to J-Lo's sampling of 'Watch Out Now' in her 'Jenny From The Block' hit... but also because their style is so accessible to the un-trained hiphop ear.
With credits ranging from Ghostface Killah to Mos Def, the Beatnuts are true legends in hiphop culture. The MOVE THE CROWD tour celebrates the release of their 7th and latest album 'MILK ME'
It has been two years since the Beatnuts last graced our shores, pulling in a strong crowd in their last Edinburgh performance. Expect to be impressed this time round with a fine selection of new material, not to mention all the old classics.
In support are two of Scotland's best known favourites, P Stylz [DEFinition, DIPT] and Nasty P [Soul Biscuits, Scratch, Mischief].
